Requesting Transfer Credit Re-Evaluation

If one or more of your transfer courses transferred to SMU as generic credit (course numbers ending in XX, YY, or ZZ), you may request a re-evaluation for a direct SMU equivalency or general education requirement.

Before You Begin

  • Confirm your course is eligible for re-evaluation
  • Have a syllabus ready for each course you are requesting to have re-evaluated. Syllabus requirements:
    • PDF or Microsoft Word document
    • Same term and year you took the course
    • Course title and number
    • Learning outcomes
    • Course topics
    • Course schedule
  • If a syllabus is missing key information, the academic department may be unable to complete the evaluation and may request additional documentation.
