HPCSMU offers several high-performance computing (HPC) options for computational research. The Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the O'Donnell Data Science and Research Computing Institute work together to provide the computational resources and tools required by SMU’s faculty, researchers, and students to accelerate advances in research innovation.

ColdFront

ColdFront is an application that helps manage HPC resource allocations. It allows authorized individuals to create new projects, request HPC compute and storage resources for specific research projects, and assign users to collaborate on those projects. ColdFront automates the provisioning of new users onto HPC, enabling them to start working and collaborating more quickly.
