Favorite thing about SMU: I love how it can feel like a small school and a large school at the same time. You have that close-knit community feeling that a smaller campus can bring, while also benefiting from the sports, extra-curriculars, and school spirit of a larger school.

Favorite place on campus: The Fondren Library would have to be my favorite. There are so many different kinds of spaces that can fit whatever kind of workspace you may need. Not to mention, there is a Starbucks inside so you can easily grab that caffeine boost you may need.

Favorite place in Dallas: As a Dallas native, I love the Vickery Meadow area (just northeast of campus) for a nice and simple Saturday afternoon. There’s an Alamo Drafthouse movie theater, a Topgolf location, the Park Lane shopping center, and the Half-Price Books flagship location. In addition to that, there are many great local restaurants that are not to be missed. I would recommend Keller’s Hamburgers for that drive-in experience or Mariano’s Hacienda Ranch for delicious Mexican food.

What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Definitely make time to go on the M-Line Trolley. It travels through parts of downtown and a lot of Uptown, and it’s just a neat way to get to know the city. The best part – it’s free!
