With the close of the academic year, OIT’s Online Production Services (OPS) team reflects on a year of growth, innovation, and collaboration across SMU. New Windows computers across SMU are now being deployed using Windows Autopilot, with devices now set up as Microsoft Entra-joined rather than hybrid-joined to our traditional on-premises Active Directory. Here's what that means for you.
The reduced academic activity on campus during the summer gives our Infrastructure team the perfect opportunity to update and tune the campus network. Hotspots and wired connections are being added and upgraded from one end of campus to the other allowing for an increase in bandwidth for many users.

Over the past several months, members of the SMU community have had the opportunity to explore a range of IgniteAI features inside Canvas. With the testing window closing last month, here is a rundown of which features are still available and how to pivot your workflows.
SMU Instructors will be happy to know that New Quizzes in Canvas now allow partial credit for questions, providing a more accurate assessment of student understanding. Also, recent changes in IgniteAI have some features, such as the Rubric Generator, being removed.
