IT Help Desk Walk-Up Support Moving During Fondren Library Renovations

As Fondren Library begins its next phase of summer renovations, the IT Help Desk walk-up location will temporarily move to ensure continued in-person support for the SMU community.

Guildhall Game Archives Added to University Archives

Guildhall's ATSD Levi Sterling recently partnered with SMU Libraries to archive over 500 student-made games on physical media — spanning decades of one of the country's top graduate game dev programs.

@smu.edu default sending address this month

LibCal users were recently migrated to using @smu.edu as their email sending address. On June 12, Lyris ListManager will have @smu.edu as the default, with the rest of the SMU community being set to switch over the June 13 weekend.
LoRaWAN Network Now Live on Campus for Research Data Collection

SMU IoT Studio launched a campus-wide LoRaWAN service for wireless research data collection. The low-power, long-range network supports environmental monitoring, wearable sensors, and other research projects.

macOS Upgrade Information: Sonoma Support Ending

SMU-owned Mac devices will no longer receive macOS Sonoma updates starting this fall. Due to this support discontinuation, devices incompatible with the newer macOS versions must be replaced by August 1, 2026..
