Research Interests: Madison’s research focuses on the intersection of cognition, learning, and educational environments, with interests in working memory, music as a tool for enhancing learning, and student–learning environment fit. Additionally, she explores how principles of industrial/organizational psychology can be applied to educational settings to optimize teaching practices, student engagement, and learning outcomes
Road to the Moody School: Madison earned a B.A. in Psychology from Oklahoma State University with minors in Sociology and Management and a M.S. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Kansas State University. Madison was born and raised in Dallas, Tx, where she attended The Hockaday School. After completing her undergraduate degree, she returned to Hockaday as a teaching assistant and was introduced to the Simmons School of Education through a Research Fellows partnership. In this program, she conducted research on the effects of playing music in the classroom on student focus and attention. In her free time, Madison enjoys working out at Orangetheory Fitness, reading, crafting, and trying new restaurants around Dallas.
