Community that inspires

With more than 200 student groups, there's no shortage of ways to get involved! Plus, there's already an organization waiting for you — through Mustang Transfers, you'll meet other transfer students to support you throughout your SMU journey.
Campus is always bustling — each year we host more than 500 performances, concerts and cultural exhibits. So there's always something to see.
If you're looking for leadership opportunities, see if you qualify for the Tau Sigma National Honor Society. Members get access to the Scholars Den — a great spot to study, collaborate, or relax.
Current students: classes at other schools
While current SMU students can take classes at other institutions, you'll want to get approval first and check if it fulfills degree requirements.
There's a 30-hour cap on transfer credit hours for current SMU students. Find more information here.

- Of the 120 credit hours required for a degree, 48-60 hours must be earned in residence at SMU.
- All students must complete SMU’s Common Curriculum and at least one major to earn an undergraduate degree.
- If your current institution operates on a quarter system, credits will be converted to semester hours by multiplying by 0.67.
