Caleb Griffin
Ph.D. candidate, Chemistry

Research Interests: Caleb's research focuses on the development of single-molecule tools including photoswitches and chemical sensors. Currently, Caleb is studying hemiindigos and azobenzenes for application as dark photoswitches.
Road to the Moody School: Caleb was born and raised just outside the city limits of Frankston, Texas. He earned his B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Tyler where he researched an oligomeric peptoid for imaging of triple-negative breast cancer. During his undergraduate degree, Caleb was the student president of the American Chemical Society (ACS) at UT Tyler. Caleb's undergraduate research led to a collaboration with Dr. Alex Lippert's lab at SMU, where he is currently studying in the Chemistry PhD program.
