Shon Phillips

Shon Gibson is passionate about teaching writing. Before transitioning into full-time, post-secondary teaching, she taught both middle and high school English.  As an instructor, she thrives on providing her students with a learning experience which they will find both relevant and engaging. Her approach is often rooted in real-world experiences. Shon enjoys building a rapport with her students that allows her to help them progress as writers and critical thinkers. Shon also works full-time in the SMU Writing Center.

 

Shon has four sons. Two out of the four share her love of writing, so during her free time she enjoys battle-rapping with them. She also enjoys writing poetry and podcasting as time allows.
