Barbara Whitehead

Barbara Whitehead enjoys creating a positive and safe environment to promote a quality connection with students, clients and colleagues. Her solution-oriented approach to work and relationships extends from teaching to real estate sales and community outreach activities. Before seeking a graduate degree to teach college writing, she worked as a professional writer of marketing materials, advertising, and magazine articles. In addition to teaching, Barbara has held positions at the Center for Teaching Excellence and Godbey Lecture Series during her 20 years at SMU. But teaching is always her primary interest--she thrives on the classroom interaction and exchange of ideas with students.
