David Haynes

Professor

Education

M.A., Hamline University

David Haynes is a novelist who also writes short stories and creative non-fiction.  His creative work most often explores the intersections of class, race, gender, and generational difference. He believes that interesting fiction most often occurs when writers trouble the artificial boundaries that are erected to separate individuals and cultures. In addition to workshops on the writing of fiction, he’s also taught topical courses in contemporary literature and supervised student-designed independent writing projects. His most recently completed novel is titled A Star in the Face of the Sky.
