Luke Miller

Ph.D. student, Department of Religious Studies

RESEARCH INTERESTS:

Luke’s research interests lie at the intersection of the doctrine of God and masculinity. His work seeks to identify how theologies of glory and destructive patriarchal notions of manhood can be mutually reinforcing while offering a constructive counter vision of masculinity inspired by theologies of the cross.

ROAD TO THE MOODY SCHOOL:

Luke graduated summa cum laude in 2015 from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, where he earned a B.A. in communication studies with minors in Greek and business management. He then completed two master’s degrees: an M.A. in Christian studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (2017) and an M.Div. with a certificate in Anglican studies at Beeson Divinity School (2020). Before starting doctoral work, Luke spent three years teaching and coaching football at the secondary level.
