Yunjung Lee

YunJung Lee is a student in the organ studio of Professor Stefan Engels at Southern Methodist University, pursing the Master’s degree of Music. She was also got Performers Diploma program at Southern Methodist University. She held the position of Organ Scholars at St. Andrew UMC in Plano of Dallas, Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and Organist at First United Lutheran Church in Dallas.

Lee is a native of Seoul, South Korea. As a teenager she was a church accompanist on piano and received third prize in the Korean High School Organ Competition at Kye-myung University in Busan. With a growing passion for organ and church music, she went on to earn a degree in church music with Professor Dong-ill Shin at Yonsei University in Seoul.

She has won many awards in organ competitions.She got first prize in the inaugural Asia International Organ Competition of AGO Taiwan held in July 2017 in Taipei, Taiwan and won third prize in the Shanghai Conservatory of Music International Organ Competition held in September 2017 in Shanghai, China. In 2016 she received second prize in the Hall Pipe Organ Competition in San Antonio, and first prize in the Arthur Poister Scholarship Competition in Syracuse, New York. In 2014 she received first prize in the Korean Association of Organists Organ Competition. She loves having various culture experience and travel around the world. Currently, she trying to best studying in Dallas, TX and family life in Nebraska, with her husband who is a Kearney UMC minister and a dog, Joy and Roy.
