2026 Admitted Student Visit Day: Friday, March 6

Congratulations on your admission to SMU! 

If you're still trying to figure out where to complete your PhD or MFA program, we encourage you to come to our Admitted Student Day on March 6, 2026, to meet your future professors, potential colleagues, and learn more about the campus community and what resources are available to our graduate students. This event is open to any student who has been admitted to one of our Ph.D. or M.F.A. programs for Fall 2026. See below for a schedule of events and details.

9:00-9:30 AM Registration and Welcome--Snacks provided Moody Hall Atrium Check in at the front tables and enjoy a light breakfast before the day starts.
9:30-10:30 AM Graduate Student Panel and Q&A   Moody Hall Auditorium

Introduction from the Moody School of Graduate and Advanced Studies, followed by panel of current and graduated doctoral students

10:30 - 10:50 AM  Fellowships Q&A Moody Hall Auditorium 

Presentation provided by Dr. Rachel Ball-Phillips, Director of Graduate Fellowships and Awards

10:50 - 11:10 AM Professional Development & Career Services Q&A Moody Hall Auditorium

 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM Off-Campus Housing Fair Moody Hall Atrium  Also visit with local property managers about apartment and housing complexes close to campus, including those highly recommended by our current students. 
12:00-1:15 PM Lunch Moody Hall Social Hub (2nd Floor)

Catered Lunch Provided by the Moody School. Meet with current doctoral and MFA students to learn more about the graduate student community.

   ESL Information Session Virtual Appointments by Zoom Meet with Martha Kwon, Director of the Intensive English Program and ESL Program, for an informative intro into what her department can provide students who may want to take advantages of these services. If interested, please complete the registration form and we'll set up an appointment for you.
