Kelli Ladwig

Kelli Cole Ladwig is an M.A. student in Art History at SMU. Her research operates at the intersection of material culture and archive studies, with particular attention to textiles as sites of knowledge production and feminine expression. She examines quilts and vernacular craft as alternative archives that encode social memory, gendered labor, and forms of rhetorical agency often excluded from institutional histories. Ladwig received her B.B.A. from the University of North Texas and her B.A. in Art History with High Distinction from the University of Arkansas, where she was awarded a Student Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Her work, grounded in archival and museum practice, has been presented at academic symposia and published in Inquiry.
