Ester Ippolito Harrison

Ester Ippolito Harrison is a third-year Ph.D. fellow in the in the RASC/a: Rhetorics of Art, Space and Culture program in Art History at SMU. She focuses on intertemporal studies of visual culture from Latin America and the Caribbean, with a specific interest in Chile. Her research explores the intersections of kinship, female and marginalized artists, ritual practices as modes of community-building, and questions of materiality and ephemerality in art. She holds an M.Phil. in the History and Philosophy of Art from the University of Kent at Canterbury and B.A. in Art History with concentrations in Italian and Printmaking from the University of Dallas. She is currently an adjunct professor at Dallas College and a Graduate Writing Consultant and Art History Teaching Assistant at SMU. Harrison has worked in Europe and the United States for art institutions including The Oskar Schlemmer Theatre Estate, Canterbury City Council Museum, Berlin Art Link and Nasher Sculpture Center.
