Emma Anderson
Emma Anderson is a first-year M.A. student in Art History at SMU. She earned a B.B.A. in Marketing, with a second major in Art History, from the College of William & Mary in 2026. Her research interests center on modern and contemporary American art, with particular attention to art from the American Southwest and how artists engage with the region’s history, landscape and cultural identity. As an undergraduate, Anderson served as a Marketing and Events intern at the Muscarelle Museum of Art, supporting initiatives to expand audience engagement and improve museum accessibility. In 2025, she was awarded the Woody Internship in Museum Studies and worked with the Exhibitions Planning team at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. These experiences strengthened her interest in museum practice, exhibition development and public-facing arts engagement.
