Dale Alexander is an adjunct lecturer in the Temerlin Advertising Institute at SMU, where he teaches Strategic Promotion Management. A marketing strategist and creative leader with more than 25 years of experience, he has developed campaigns and brand experiences for leading organizations including AT&T, Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Pizza Hut, Hasbro, EA Games and Bacardi USA.

Alexander's career has spanned agency, brand, and sports marketing, including leadership roles as the Vice President of Creative for the Dallas Mavericks and sponsorship activation for a wide range of experiential events. His work has focused on helping organizations connect with audiences through strategic thinking, creativity and memorable experiences.

In addition to his marketing work, Alexander has a longstanding passion for the improvisational arts and applies improv principles as a tool for creativity, collaboration, communication and problem-solving. He believes many of the same skills that make successful improvisers such as listening, adaptability and building on the ideas of others are equally valuable in business and advertising. Dale stays sharp by still performing professionally in the DFW area with his wife.

At SMU, Alexander is committed to helping students bridge the gap from academic learning into the real-world application of principles. His course emphasizes strategic thinking, creative confidence, teamwork and the practical skills needed to succeed in the ever-changing attention economy.
