Sydney Loutit

Research Interests: Sydney studies the student athlete experiences and how it is shaped by university programs, staff, and other educational experiences. She is also interested in the broader higher education policy context and how changes can impact collegiate athletics as a whole.


Road to the Moody School: Sydney attended Texas Christian University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in sports broadcasting. Following completion of her undergraduate degree, Sydney worked for the Dallas Stars Hockey Club in communications and partnerships. In 2020, she returned to school, completing her master's degree in higher education policy and leadership, here at SMU, where she also worked as an assistant academic counselor for student-athletes.
