Isabella Rossellini to Present Film Master Class on November 20

Public invited; highly regarded actress, writer and director in town as guest of Dallas Film Society

Isabella Rossellini is coming to Dallas as the featured guest of the Dallas Film Society’s annual “The Art of Film” gala fundraiser, scheduled for Friday evening, November 20.

But before she walks the red carpet at the gala, she will talk with students of SMU Meadows Division of Film and Media Arts earlier in the day in a 10:30 a.m. master class to be held in the Bob Hope Theatre on the SMU campus. The public is welcome to attend and reservations do not need to be made.

Rossellini made an unforgettable impression on Hollywood with her leading role in the 1986 David Lynch film, Blue Velvet, for which she received an Independent Spirit Award® for Best Female Lead. Rossellini also received a GoldenGlobe® nomination for her performance in the 1996 television film Crime of the Century and a 1997 Emmy Award® nomination for her guest appearance in the television series Chicago Hope. Additional film credits include Wild at Heart; Death Becomes Her; Big Night; Infamous; Two Lovers; and Enemy.

Since 2009, Rossellini has written, directed and starred in several productions, including Green Porno, a series of 40 short films about animals airing on the Sundance Channel, and the new hit television series The Blacklist, among others.

In 2015 she premiered a one-woman show titled Tribute to Ingrid Bergman in London, and has brought the show to New York, Paris and Rome. Tribute honors her mother, an influential and famous actress who appeared in over 50 films.

Rossellini will be in the new film Joy, by David O. Russell, scheduled for release in December 2015. She will appear opposite Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper.

Isabella Rossellini will present a master class to SMU Meadows Film and Media Arts students on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in the Bob Hope Theatre on the SMU campus. The public is invited to attend free of charge. Read about parking on the SMU campus.
