The Dance Minor is open by audition to all SMU students. Auditions typically take place in the fall or early winter.
Credit-bearing Beginning Ballet, Modern and Jazz classes are open to all students from any field of study. (See catalog)

SMU also has a Ballroom dance club, the Mustang Mavericks country-western stunt team and SMU Spirit Squads.
Dance classes are also available from local dance studios.
