Internships & Employment - Provider Information & Resources

Temerlin Advertising Institute (TAI) students benefit from the strong relationship between the Institute and industry professionals. These relationships become even more important as graduates enter the advertising community and search for jobs.

If your agency or organization has an internship or employment opportunity you would like to promote to TAI students or alumni, complete our Provider Profile. We will review your submission and follow-up within three business days to let you know if your request has been approved. Approved opportunities are promoted for approximately four weeks via our Weekly Update.

Promote an internship or job to Temerlin Advertising Institute students and alumni.

Additionally, SMU’s Hegi Family Career Development Center offers a number of employer resources, including Handshake, a university-wide online internship and job board.

Additional Information & Resources:

  • TAI does not place students in internships or jobs. If a student is interested in an opportunity with your agency or organization that TAI is promoting, s/he will apply and follow-up with you directly.
  • TAI students have many internship opportunities available to them, so we generally limit promotion to those that pay AND provide a significant opportunity for learning about the advertising industry.
  • Advertising students may choose to earn course credit for an internship, but it’s not required for their degree. Students can earn 1 credit hour for each 50 hours worked during a term. Students must receive approval from TAI before enrolling in an internship course.
  • Internships must be in compliance with U.S. Department of Labor’s guidelines. Opportunities that don’t comply with these guidelines will not be promoted.
