SMU is voting location for the Texas primary

Dallas County residents and SMU community may vote at Hughes-Trigg Student Center March 5

DALLAS (SMU) – SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Student Center will serve as a voter location for the 2024 Texas primary election on Tuesday, March 5. The Dallas community and SMU students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to vote on campus from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center, room 120, on election day. Dallas County registered voters can cast ballots at any vote center location.

On election day, the Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility will host a voter information table in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center for anyone who has questions about the voting process.

“This is the first test of party strength for the 2024 election. Turnout numbers will give a clear picture of voters’ hunger for change or their desire to keep the system in place,” said Rita Kirk, director of the Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility and professor of communication studies at SMU.

Free parking will be available for members of the Dallas community in the Binkley Parking Center. For more information on Dallas County Elections Department’s voting requirements, visit here.
