Concert performances are presented in Caruth Auditorium, a 490-seat concert hall; the 168-seat Robert J. O'Donnell Lecture-Recital Hall; and the Dr. Bob and Jean Smith Auditorium in the Meadows Museum. Opera productions are presented in the 392-seat Bob Hope Theatre.
The Jake and Nancy Hamon Arts Library houses an inspiring collection of more than 110,000 books and scores, 31,000 audio and video recordings, and 100,000 items in special collections of research materials such as the Van Katwijk Music Collection.
Facilities available to music students include 45 individual practice rooms that were completely renovated through a 2006 gift from Jeanne R. Johnson.
The electronic keyboard laboratory, used for class instruction in piano, theory and improvisation, is equipped with Yamaha 88-key digital pianos, an MlC 100 Communications Center, computers at each station and a variety of sequencers, tone modules and software applications.
Student recitals and faculty and ensemble performances are digitally recorded and mastered to CDs acceptable for auditions, competitions and archival purposes.
The Group and Individual Music Therapy Clinics, connected by an observation room, offer student therapists opportunities for clinical practicum experiences under faculty supervision.
The Division of Music maintains an inventory of 30 Steinway grand pianos, three harpsichords and eight pipe organs, including a celebrated three-manual 51-stop tracker organ built by C.B. Fisk and located in Caruth Auditorium.
The Electronic Music Studio is a comfortable, multitrack, MIDI and digital audio facility featuring hardware and software on a Macintosh platform. The studio is well equipped to support algorithmic composition, interactive performance, synthesis, sampling, sequencing, signal processing, video post scoring and digital recording with stereo, quad and 5.1 surround monitoring.
Owen Arts Center
Public art and performance spaces within the Owen Arts Center include Caruth Auditorium, Bob Hope Theatre, Greer Garson Theatre, Margo Jones Theatre, O’Donnell Lecture-Recital Hall, Sharp Studio, Taubman Atrium and the Doolin Gallery. Students participate in lectures, film screenings, set construction and music lessons and take advantage of opportunities to form relationships and collaborations across many art forms. Hamon Arts Library
The Jake and Nancy Hamon Arts Library is a four-story building located in the Owen Arts Center. A branch of the Central University Libraries, Hamon serves students and faculty in the areas of visual art, art history, cinema, communications, dance, music and theatre. The Hamon Library's circulating and reference collections contain more than 180,000 physical items on the visual and performing arts, including more than 32,000 sound and visual recordings. Bob Hope Lobby
The naturally lit, glass-filled Bob Hope Lobby provides an intriguing visual backdrop for various performances, both formal and informal. Located at the Bishop Boulevard entrance to the Owen Arts Center, the lobby is the entrance to not just the Bob Hope Theatre but also Caruth Auditorium.

The 392-seat Bob Hope Theatre, donated by the iconic comedian, features a proscenium stage, continental seating and a hydraulic orchestra pit.
Caruth Auditorium
Concert performances are presented in Caruth Auditorium, a 490-seat concert hall with an acoustical construction that can be "tuned" for any type of musical presentation. Caruth Auditorium is also the home of the splendid C.B. Fisk Opus 101, a 51-stop, 3681-pipe organ used for recitals as well as symphonic and choral concerts.
Electronic Music Studio
The Electronic Music Studio features a control room, isolation booth and equipment/storage room and is equipped for research, creation, production and instruction of electro-acoustic music in a comfortable and elegant environment.
Johnson Music Practice Room Complex
Music students enjoy exclusive card-swipe access to the Jeanne Roach Johnson Music Practice Room Complex. The facility includes 50 newly renovated rehearsal rooms with rich acoustics, sound isolation, ventilation and lighting. A piano in each practice room is tuned and maintained by a full-time piano technician. Grand pianos are maintained in specialized practice rooms reserved for piano majors. Harp and percussion majors also study in dedicated practice rooms.
O'Donnell Hall
Faculty and students employ the versatile, 168-seat O'Donnell Hall as a classroom, lecture hall, recital hall and screening room for music, art history, photography and advertising classes and seminars. The site provides a Steinway B piano; newly renovated A/V system with Dolby 5.0 surround sound, five speakers and two sub-woofers; a 7000 Lumen DLP video projector with Blu-ray disc player, DVD and VHS; a wall-mounted touch-screen on stage that controls all components; and wireless Internet.
Taubman Atrium
This skylight-filled room is filled with comfortable furniture and reading areas, where students can work on projects in a more social and collaborative space than traditional "Quiet, please!" library spaces. Brown bag performances are held here throughout the year. Taubman Atrium is also home of the Meadows coffee cart, where students can purchase freshly-brewed Starbucks coffee and other refreshments.
