Narrative as Reality

Igniting conversations with art

In Narrative as Reality: A World Reimagined, 10 pieces of art curated from the collection of SMU alumnus Kelvin Beachum ’10, ’12 and his wife, Jessica, capture “an artistic world of hope, Black joy, reality and aspiration.” The Beachums are already known for their work for equity in education and business. As Kelvin explains, the artists and their art add another dimension to the couple’s advocacy. “We believe that their brilliant work and shared insights will start a conversation and bring people together in a new way.”
