Where do I find the full listing of events for Homecoming weekend?
The Schedule page of the Homecoming site will have the most up-to-date information regarding events and details for the entire weekend.
Do schools and units have their own special Homecoming Events?
Yes! Refer to the Homecoming page or contact the school for more information.
HOMECOMING REGISTRATION
How do I register for Reunion? When does registration close?
Registration will open late summer 2022. Advanced registration will close Monday, October 17. To register after that date, please contact the SMU Alumni Relations team at smualum@smu.edu or 214-768-2856.
Do I need to register in advance?
You are strongly encouraged to register in advance. If you are unable, walk up registration will be available.
Will I receive a confirmation?
Yes! Once you complete the online registration form, you will receive a confirmation receipt of your registration. A more detailed confirmation message with additional details will be sent prior to Homecoming. Please contact the SMU Reunion Team at reunionyear@smu.edu or (214) 768-9327 if you do not receive a confirmation email upon completion.
Will I be sent an event reminder with final details?
Yes, SMU Reunions will email all registrants final homecoming details in the weeks leading up to Homecoming Weekend.
How much does my Reunion cost?
The cost of attending Reunion Weekend depends on the events you choose to attend. Prices to attend each event will be available when registration opens.
HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME
How do I buy football tickets for the Homecoming game?
To purchase football game tickets click here.
When will the football kickoff time be announced?
The official kickoff time will be announced seven to ten days prior to the game. The Homecoming Parade will begin at three hours before kickoff.
Who are we playing?
SMU will play The University of Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday, October 22.
CANCELLATIONS
How do I make changes or cancel my event reservation(s)?
All events, with the exception of football tickets, are refundable until Monday, October 17. To request a refund or make changes to an existing registration, please contact the SMU Alumni Relations Team at smualum@smu.edu or 214-768-2856, or if you registered online, you can request a refund there.
ATTIRE
What should I wear?
Attire varies depending on the events you will be attending during Homecoming Weekend. For Saturday festivities, including the Homecoming Parade, Reunion Village and football game, wear your red and blue with pride.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS

PARKING/SHUTTLES
Where do I park when I come to campus for Homecoming?
SMU recommends parking only in designated SMU gameday parking areas. The communities of Highland Park and University Park have established resident-only parking areas near the SMU campus. Cars without resident parking or guest permits may be cited by the Police Department.
WEATHER
What if there is inclement weather?
While the majority of reunion class parties are indoor events, inclement weather plans are in place for those that are not indoors to ensure that the event will be successful rain or shine. The homecoming parade, activities on the boulevard, and the football game are all set to continue rain or shine.
UNDERGRADUATE REUNIONS
Where do I check in for my class party?
Alumni and their guests will check in at their class party on Friday night or at the Reunion Village on Saturday before the football game with their copy of their confirmation receipt. It is not necessary to check in prior to your reunion party.
How do I make my reunion gift?
You may give online or by phone—call SMU Gifts and Records at 214-768-3739. You can designate your gift to any area of SMU.
How will SMU know when reunion-year alumni make gifts?
Any gift of any size to any area of SMU made by a reunion-year alum counts towards your class giving goals. Reunion gifts during SMU’s fiscal year between June 1, 2022 and May 31, 2023 count towards your reunion goal. For questions, please contact SMU Alumni Relations at smualum@smu.edu or 214-768-2856.
