The success of the campaign would not have been possible without the support of more than 500 volunteers across the nation. Through their vision, commitment and generosity, they inspired unprecedented support for the University and enabled SMU to enter the ranks of the nation’s most prestigious institutions of higher education. These volunteers have established a transformative base of support that secures the University's strength going forward.
The Campaign Leadership Council was a coalition of long-standing SMU supporters leading The Second Century Campaign. Beginning in 2006, a 15-member Campaign Leadership Council assisted the University in the execution of the campaign's quiet phase, which focused on solicitations of leadership gift commitments of $1 million or more. The Campaign Leadership Council oversaw the campaign's leadership gift solicitations, as well as provided general oversight of the campaign's volunteer organization.
The Campaign Steering Committee Co-chairs were a group of tireless volunteers charged with representing the various schools and areas as momentum continued for The Second Century Campaign. These proven leaders joined other volunteers to advance specific funding needs and strategic priorities for these programs.
