Center for Faith and Learning

SMU created the Center for Faith and Learning to promote greater integration of intellectual and spiritual life, both on campus and in society more broadly. Rooted in and inspired by the University’s Methodist identity, the center seeks to help SMU students, faculty and staff discern and develop connections between their religious convictions and their academic and professional work. In addition, the center seeks to highlight and to promote dialogue surrounding the relevance of faith-based perspectives to fundamental questions in every area of intellectual inquiry and public life.

2026 Lent Devotional Guide

Lent is a special season in the Christian liturgical calendar, one of reflection, repentance, and reorientation. Similarly, the life of faith is filled with its own seasons and experiences. Like the disciples who followed Jesus, we all experience moments of awe, navigate what it means to trust, have our doubts, and much more. As Lent invites us into intentional reflection, this year we invite our campus community to explore the seasons that define the life of faith through this year’s Lent Devotional Guide: Songs and Seasons.
