Driven to create content that moves people to think, feel, and connect, Michael Cerny has defined his career by his storytelling ability. He spent 10 years as a journalist before migrating to film and establishing a successful career as a director.

Creating content rooted in a truthful narrative and stunning visuals has allowed Cerny’s work to continually connect brands and their audience on an emotional, as well as intellectual, level. He has worked extensively in the United States, Canada, and Europe, winning Best Director in Canada for his Tim Horton's campaign. His directing resume includes documentary short films and dozens of commercial campaigns for brands like Ford, Blue Cross, AT&T, State Farm and Lockheed Martin.

His work for Joe Biden’s 2020 Presidential campaign exploded on social media and was recognized by CNN, Politico and the Washington Post. He’s also producing his first feature, JOIKA, with Anonymous Content & Embankment Films / London. JOIKA is based on the true story of Joy Womack and her quest to penetrate the elite of Russia’s Bolshoi Ballet. The film stars Diane Kruger and Talia Ryder and is scheduled for release in October 2023.
