SMU is voting location for midterm election

SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Student Center will serve as a voting location for the Nov. 3 general election. The Dallas community and SMU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to vote on campus from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center, Ballrooms A and B. Dallas County registered voters can cast ballots at any vote center location.

The Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility will host a voter information table in the Hughes-Trigg Student Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, for those who have questions about the voting process. On-campus voters will receive an “I Voted” sticker designed by SMU students on election day, Nov. 3.

"Voting is one of the clearest ways to demonstrate that our participation matters. It’s also how we make sure the people who govern us actually reflect the community they serve," said Rita Kirk, director of the Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility and professor of communication studies at SMU.

Free parking will be available for members of the Dallas community in the Binkley Parking Center. For more information on Dallas County Elections Department’s voting requirements, visit here.
