Create Your Career Path: The Career Management Center
As your world expands through Cox, the CMC goes to work for you. The staff's main purpose is to give you the advice and resources you'll need to pursue and build your ideal career — before, during and after your MSM studies.
Students who have completed the Masters of Science in Management curriculum will be armed with a strong business foundation that will help to transform their resume into a more marketable and diversified set of experiences. MSM graduates will increase their personal earning potential and gain access to job opportunities and career tracks that are reserved for students who hold advanced degrees.
The Cox Career Management Center provides you with services and opportunities to enhance your employment marketability. The small size of each entering class also means that we will work closely with you to develop a career management strategy that fits your unique abilities and professional goals.
Cox MS in Management Students, who graduated this past May, have already accepted jobs with:
- Bessemer Trust
- Hilltop Holdings
- NorthMarq Capital
- And a number of other top Dallas based real estate firms, private equity firms, start-ups, and multi-national consultancies.
Starting salaries range from $50,000 to $103,000 for our MS in Management graduates.
Grow As A Leader
You can't learn leadership from a textbook — you need first-hand experience. That’s why the Cox Business Leadership Center develops your management acumen through immersive off-campus seminar experiences, plus seminars and roundtables that will broaden your horizons and sharpen your skills in leadership and communication — critical skills not always covered in an MS curriculum but valued by corporate recruiters. Engage your studies in real-world application and get ready for the road ahead.
Highlight: Business Leadership Center Seminars
This is where industry heavy-hitters bring leadership lessons to life. The BLC offers an average of four seminars every week, with each one developed and led by professionals from such companies as Accenture, Dell Services, Walt Disney Company, Texas Instruments and Xerox. From personal branding to conflict management, these practical, hands-on seminars make the connection between the classroom and the boardroom. BLC seminars appear on your Cox MSM transcript — where potential employers can see the extra miles you’ve covered.
Faculty: Learn From The Best
We don't just teach business — we're immersed in it. The Economist magazine ranks SMU Cox #7 in the world for faculty quality. When they’re not honing your management skills, your professors are consulting for Fortune 500s, publishing books and research, running their own businesses and serving in government. An intimate learning environment and a calendar full of networking events make it easy for you to build one-on-one relationships with the academics and professionals who are invested in your future.
