DALLAS (SMU) – SMU Dedman School of Law is introducing its inaugural Emerging Leader Board – law school leaders to provide feedback on important issues and assist with continued efforts to increase alumni engagement.

Those selected for the new Emerging Leader Board have graduated from SMU Law in the past 20 years, have a proven record of success in the legal profession and a strong dedication to public service.

“With our Mustang Bar Law Alumni Association growing like never before, we’re excited to harness the energies and insights of some of our most outstanding young alumni. We have an extraordinary alumni base and thought it the perfect time to create this opportunity to get formalized feedback from our younger alums,” said JENNIFER M. COLLINS, Judge James Noel Dean and Professor of Law at SMU Dedman School of Law. “This is an important initiative for SMU Law, and we’re grateful for the commitment these inspiring leaders have to our law school.”

The 2017 - 2018 Board consists of 32 Mustang Bar Law Alumni Association members, from across Texas and the nation. They represent a wide array of employment backgrounds and 18 different law school classes.

“We look forward to the impact they will have in engaging our alumni base and helping shape the future of the Mustang Bar Law Alumni Association,” said Abby Ruth, Director of Alumni Relations at SMU Dedman School of Law.
