OREM Senior Design Team a Finalist in National Data Analytics Competition
The senior design team of Ahmed Alefari, Emma Hanson, John Clay Richard, James Stine, and Jessica Wang were finalists in the CSBS 2021 Data Analytics Competition. This year's topic from the Conference of State Bank Supervisors was to develop and test a model for forecasting bank failures. The SMU team was awarded a $2,500 prize.

Niloofar's dissertation is on the development of solution methods for large-scale stochastic convex programming problems with recourse. Her research includes the design of data-driven algorithms, their theoretical analysis, and computational implementation.
