Undergraduate Engineering Majors & Minors

An SMU undergraduate degree requires a minimum of 120 credit hours and must include completion of the University’s Common Curriculum, one major and a combination of electives and/or other majors or minors. Certain majors require more than 120 hours to finish the degree.

All SMU Lyle students have access to the unique Deason Innovation Gym (aka the DIG), which provides the tools and space to work on immersion design projects and competitions to accelerate learning, innovation, and leadership.

Machine Shop

Students interested in mechanical engineering can work with our machinist to learn the mill, the lathe, welding and more.
