Texas Bar Exam for International Students

Bar Exam Eligibility for International LL.M. Students

International students who wish to practice law in this country should familiarize themselves with the bar admission requirements in the particular jurisdiction where they plan to practice. Bar admission requirements vary greatly from state to state and each state has the independent authority to determine whether an applicant is eligible to sit for its Bar exam. Most states require applicants to have a J.D. degree, while others require foreign lawyers to have completed a certain number of course credits from a law school in this country. It is vital that applicants read the information provided by the Board of Law Examiners in the state in which they intend to take the Bar exam.
