In Memoriam: Mars

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of one of our beloved campus cats, Mars.

Mars lived a long, happy life on campus. She was born at SMU after her mom, Mona, welcomed her and her siblings. Later, Mars had at least one litter of her own before being captured for TNR. Mars never warmed up to humans, so campus remained her home.

She was one of our most frequently spotted cats and was often seen by students and volunteers. Mars was usually roaming near Maguire/Caruth or Fondren Library. Many students would report that she was pregnant—but Mars was just very well fed!

She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. We love you, Mars.
