SMU announces 2026 Homecoming and Family Weekend dates

From the Boulevard to the big game, Mustang families and alumni return to the Hilltop to reconnect and celebrate SMU’s extraordinary ascent.

Boulevarding

At an exciting time in its history, SMU invites students, families, alumni and community members to the Hilltop for two of the University’s most anticipated annual traditions. Family Weekend will take place on September 25-27 with Homecoming on October 16-18.

These weekends offer an important opportunity for alumni, parents and families to experience first-hand the University’s academic ascent, athletic impact and bold plans for the future. Throughout both weekends, there will be special opportunities to celebrate historic accomplishments and learn about the future vision of the University as well as key elements that will drive the new strategic plan, which will be formally introduced in fall 2026.

Family Weekend welcomes parents and families to campus for a weekend of connection, celebration and Mustang pride. Events will include the Boulevard tailgating tradition followed by SMU football hosting Missouri State on Saturday, Sept. 26, along with events that highlight academic life, student experiences and opportunities to engage with the SMU community.

Homecoming is highlighted by SMU facing ACC opponent Virginia on Saturday, Oct. 17, bringing alumni and friends back to the Hilltop for a spirited weekend featuring class reunions and campus traditions.

The only way to guarantee football tickets at this time is through the purchase or renewal of season tickets. Single-game tickets will be made available at a later date. Fans are encouraged to secure their seats now ahead of the renewal deadline.
