MUSTANGS SAY:

Dallas has a great thrift store scene, and as an avid thrifter, I love exploring and finding new stores and new pieces.

Where to eat

From street food to fine dining, Dallas’ diverse food scene represents a multicultural feast that celebrates both Texas favorites and cuisines from nearly any spot on the globe.

Some can’t-miss faves:

  • Shug’s Bagels: This alumnus-founded business is a student favorite and just steps from campus. Be prepared for a line on Saturday mornings or venture out to their Lemmon Avenue location.
  • Terry Black’s BBQ and Pecan Lodge: Some of the best BBQ in the state can be found in Dallas’ Deep Ellum neighborhood.
  • Revolver Taco Lounge: Try the No. 4 Taco in Texas, according to Texas Monthly.
  • Ngon Vietnamese Kitchen: Ten minutes from campus on Lower Greenville, Ngon has Michelin honors but doesn’t break the bank.
  • Kuby’s Sausage House: This family-owned German market has been a Dallas institution since 1961. Don’t miss the weekend brunch until 2:30 p.m.
The Original ChopShop across the street from campus.

MUSTANGS SAY:

Dallas truly has something for everyone, whether it’s exploring food spots in Addison, shopping at the Galleria or NorthPark, strolling along Greenville Avenue, or discovering new places in Deep Ellum.
