SMU Lyle prof listed among most Highly Cited Researchers

SMU’s Jianhui Wang was named to the 2021 list of Highly Cited Researchers from Clarivate.

It’s the fourth time Wang, a professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering, has won the award.

The annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple highly cited papers during the last decade. Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and publication year in Clarivate’s Web of Science citation index.

Wang is the Principal Investigator on a multitude of energy-related research projects on smart grid, microgrids, power system operation and control, renewable integration, grid resilience and cybersecurity.

He has authored or co-authored more than 300 journal and conference publications, which have been cited more than 32,000 times by his peers with an h-index of 91. Wang is an associate editor of Journal of Energy Engineering, an editorial board of Applied Energy and IEEE Power and Energy Magazine. He served as guest editor for a special issue of IEEE Power and Energy Magazine on Electrification of Transportation, which won an APEX Grand Award.

Wang is the Past Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid (2015-2019), an IEEE PES Distinguished Lecturer and a Fellow of IEEE.
