Celebration of Lights is a time when students, faculty and staff can relax and enjoy the holiday spirit.
Celebration of Lights is a time where students, faculty and staff can relax and enjoy the holiday spirit before everyone leaves for winter break. The entire SMU and surrounding communities gather for this joyous occasion to watch the famous Dallas Hall and main quad be lit with more than 140,000 lights. The lighting ceremony, sponsored by the SMU Student Foundation, was held Nov. 28, and the display continues nightly from dusk to midnight through Jan. 1.
