The Dalai Lama brings message of peace and tolerance to SMU
Religious leader urges tolerance, consideration and patience to sellout crowd.
SMU and the George W. Bush Presidential Center welcomed His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Dallas on July 1 for “A Conversation with the Dalai Lama.”
His Holiness was warmly received in SMU’s Moody Coliseum, where an overflow crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to him. His visit to Dallas came just days before his 80th birthday on July 6 – a birthdate that he shares with former President George W. Bush. The renowned spiritual leader and Nobel laureate participated in a moderated discussion with ABC News political correspondent Cokie Roberts as the moderator.
