DALLAS (SMU) – Barefoot on the Boulevard, SMU’s annual student-sponsored celebration of green living, brings free food, music and fun to Bishop Boulevard from Noon-5 p.m. Saturday, April 18.
Sponsored by the Environmental Society, Barefoot on the Boulevard is open to the community. SMU clubs, institutes and organizations will set up under the oaks along with vendors, sharing demonstrations, games and displays.
“The reason we invite people out for Barefoot on the Boulevard every year is to get them to learn about the environment,” said student Wendy Alyea, Environmental Society president. “We want it to be a fun and educational experience for everyone. There will be entertainment throughout the afternoon, along with face painting, henna, and T-shirt tie-dying.”
Individual singers and guitarists will perform from 12:30-1 p.m. Other performances include:
- 1-1:30 p.m. Stampede
- 2-2:30 p.m. Spoken Word
- 3-3:30 p.m. SMU MustRaas
- 4-4:30 p.m. Southern Gentlemen
