Canstruction, a new event introduced by Student Foundation in 2013, made its return to the list of Homecoming festivities in 2014.

All participating organizations collected canned, non-perishable goods and had two hours to build them into a freestanding structures reflecting the theme of the 2014 Homecoming Festivities – “Dynamic Duos.”

At the completion of homecoming week, the cans were donated to the North Texas Food Bank, which partners with SMU in a shared “Stampede Against Hunger.”

This year’s Canstruction raised a total of 7,464 pounds of food that will provide meals for 6,220 hungry children, families and seniors.
