Dallas (SMU) – Online marketing services and products provider, One Technologies, LP, is the newly named top Dallas area entrepreneurial company in 2013.
The announcement came at the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship’s Annual Dallas 100™ Awards Ceremony and Banquet Thursday night at the Omni Dallas Hotel. One Technologies, founded in 2000, moved up 22 spots to capture the top spot in the Dallas 100™ Awards this year.
“Since the Dallas 100™ Awards are so challenging to earn and moving up the ranking is so difficult, it is always exciting to have a company like the 2013 winner that jumped from #23 last year to #1 this year,” said Jerry White, director of the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU Cox School of Business in Dallas. “Considering that the average annual growth rate for the entire group of Dallas 100™ winners is about 90 percent per year for the last two years, this is truly an unusual achievement.”
The SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship annually names the top 100 Dallas entrepreneurial companies based on sales growth over a designated period. One Technologies, LP, which provides online marketing services and products in the direct-to-consumer credit monitoring industry, had the biggest percentage sales increase and dollar growth for 2010 to 2012, as determined by the calculations of the accounting firm BKD CPAs and Advisors.
Dallas 100™, co-founded by SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship, honors the ingenuity, commitment and perseverance of the fastest growing privately-held entrepreneurial businesses in the Dallas area. According to the Caruth Institute’s data, this year’s winning companies collectively created 13,351 jobs during the previous two years, grew at an average annual growth rate of almost 88 percent per year and achieved almost $3.6 billion in sales over the past year. This is the 23nd year that the Caruth Institute has organized this event and the first year it has been held at the Omni Dallas Hotel.
“Dallas is a town that from its earliest days was driven by growth from entrepreneurs. Every generation had its share of exciting companies including Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, Brinker International and many others,” White said. “This year’s Dallas 100™ winners continue that tradition and promise to be as successful as the previously mentioned companies.”
The Dallas 100™ Awards Ceremony is presented annually by the SMU Cox Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship. This year’s sponsors were Executive Press, The Stewart Organization, Amegy Bank, Carr Intellectual Property Law, Evos Financial, The Intersect Group, Avison Young, KRLD 1080 News Radio, Dallas Business Journal and BKD CPAs and Advisors. The founders developed the Dallas 100™ Awards to highlight positive news about fast growth companies in the Dallas area. The event continues to recognize privately held corporations, proprietorships or partnerships headquartered in the area that don’t otherwise get attention, but which have created jobs and generated wealth for their founders and employees, and enhanced the area economy.
Along with One Technologies, LP, 99 other Dallas-based companies were revealed as Dallas 100™ winners to an audience of about 900 guests during Thursday night’s awards ceremony. Each company was announced in ascending order, culminating with the unveiling of the top Dallas 100™ company. The top 10 companies were given special recognition. They are, from highest ranked to lowest ranked, #1) One Technologies, LP ; #2) Wingspan Portfolio Advisors ; #3) Senderra RX Partners, LLC; #4) Breitling Energy Companies; #5) CenseoHealth; #6) Compass Professional Health Services; #7) Altair Global Relocation; #8) Which Wich, Inc.; #9) Tricolor Auto Group; and #10) Maestro Personal Assistants.
