6 Dallas museums among 600 admitting military families free this summer

WASHINGTON – More than 600 museums nationwide, including six in Dallas and 40 in Texas, are offering free admission to military families all summer in a new partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

The list includes some of the nation's premier art museums, including New York's Museum of Modern Art  and the Art Institute of Chicago, as well as science centers, children's museums and other sites in all 50 states.

The Dallas participants are the Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Heritage Village, Meadows Museum, Museum of the American Railroad, Nasher Sculpture Center, and the Museum of Geometric and MADI Art. In Fort Worth, the Amon Carter Museum is taking part.
