SMU launches Second Century Campaign — SMU launches the largest fund-raising campaign in its history to dramatically increase academic quality and impact. (9/12/2008)

Gifts of more than $4 million to support facilities improvements at SMU-In-Taos — A $4 million gift to SMU from former Texas Governor William P. Clements, Jr. (SMU '39) and his wife, Rita, will support improvements in facilities at SMU-in-Taos, the University's campus in northern New Mexico. Other donors have provided more than $900,000 in additional gifts. (7/7/2008)

Gift endows Huffington Earth Sciences Dept. — A gift of more than $10 million from the Honorable Roy M. Huffington of Houston is a boost to SMU's Department of Earth Sciences, which is being renamed in his honor. (03/27/08)

Gift endows theology school professorship — The Perkins School of Theology at SMU has received a $1 million gift from Barbara Cook Wendland and Erroll Wendland to establish the Wendland-Cook Professorship in Constructive Theology. (03/14/08)

TI Gift of $2 Million Brings National Leader to Engineering — Delores M. Etter, a former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense and Assistant Secretary of the Navy, will be the director of SMU's new Caruth Institute for Engineering Education and the Texas Instruments Distinguished Chair in Engineering Education. Gift of $3 Million Creates Cox Asset Management Curriculum — D. Scott Luttrell (BBA '77) and David B. Miller (BBA '72 and MBA '73) have helped Cox create an undergraduate curriculum in alternative asset management. (03/03/08)

Edwin L. Cox gives SMU $5 million challenge gift — Dallas oilman Edwin L. Cox has given $5 million to support merit-based undergraduate scholarships at the school that bears his name – SMU's Edwin L. Cox School of Business. (10/19/07)
