Ever work for a genius? A legend?

Thomas E. Alexander did for almost two decades, and he has the stories to prove it. Alexander has no lasting scars, just a lot of affection for someone who put him through the hoops daily from 1970 to 1986 as executive vice president of marketing at Neiman Marcus.

Stanley Marcus: The Relentless Reign of a Merchant Princewill be released Dec. 22 and available at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble and Borders.

Published by Eakin Press, the paperback book retails for $19.95 and has 60 photos, including posters and pictures from Fortnight celebrations. . .

Imagine the terror Alexander felt a couple of years ago when he discovered three boxes in Marcus' archives at Southern Methodist University's DeGolyer Library marked "correspondence to and from and concerning Tom Alexander." Those papers became part of his research.
