Featured speaker for the 2009 Women's Symposium, held Feb. 25, 2009, was Glinda Bridgforth, a leading financial expert who explores the emotional and cultural factors that block financial success. She brings over 30 years of experience to her boutique consulting practice, Bridgforth Financial, and specializes in a holistic approach to money management.

In the years since she started her career, Bridgforth has become a sought-after financial expert in the African American community and beyond. Glinda examines the issues unique to African American women that often result in bad spending habits and poor financial health.

 Ms. Bridgforth is the author of Girl, Get Your Money Straight! and The Basic Money Management Workbook and the co-author of Girl, Make Your Money Grow! Bridgforth is a regular contributor to Essence magazine and a former featured writer and "Money Talk" chat show host for America Online, Inc. Her financial insights have been featured in the Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Money, Jet, Black Enterprise, Heart and Soul, Upscale, and Ebony. Bridgforth is a frequent guest on television with appearances on The Today Show, Fox News, PBS and CNN Flipside and is a regular guest financial expert on a weekly radio talk show in the Detroit-metro area. Bridgforth was one of the featured coaches on Oprahs’s widely popular, six-part series “America’s Debt Diet.” She is an official AOL coach and writes a monthly column, Debt Free/Care Free on TDJakes.com.
