SMU celebrates Homecoming 2008

SMU has a variety of activities planned for this week as the University celebrates Homecoming.

DALLAS (SMU) -- SMU will celebrate its annual Homecoming the week of Nov. 3 with reunions, the Distinguished Alumni Awards, Community Service Day, Field Day, College Bowl,

Live from the Hilltop, King and Queen elections, Float-Building Party, Homecoming Parade, a football game against the University of Memphis Tigers and the presentation of Homecoming King and Queen during halftime at the football game.

In addition, Professors emeriti Marshall Terry and Darwin Payne will present an updated edition of Terry's book about the history of the University, From High on a Hilltop. There is a reception at 6 p.m. Thursday in DeGolyer Library, followed by a lecture and book signing.

The new Heritage Hall online is now available, offering videos of historic games and photos of athletes from the past.

During Homecoming Weekend, the SMU Mustang football team will play the Memphis Tigers at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, in the Gerald J. Ford Stadium. In addition to the game, SMU Homecoming Weekend includes a Saturday parade at 11 a.m.
