Safia Khan

Safia Khan is in the Lyle School of Engineering, double-majoring in Computer Science and Data Science, with a concentration in Pre-Law. She has gained hands-on legal experience as a Legal Assistant at AIO Hospitality Solutions and Stay Express, where she reviewed and analyzed contracts and legal documents, while simultaneously developing her technical skills as a web developer. At SMU, Safia serves as Treasurer of the Women in Law Organization, is a member of the Turner Scholars Program, and is a mentor to freshman Pre-Law Scholars. She also works as a Research Assistant in SMU's Department of Teaching and Learning and is a co-author of a paper submitted to the American Educational Research Association. Following graduation, she plans to attend law school and pursue a career in technology and intellectual property law, with a focus on artificial intelligence policy and ethics.
